Earlier this month on the 19th of September, r é n founder Jo Soo Tang was invited to speak at a panel discussion co-organised by SNNHK and SENIA Hong Kong and hosted at Ernst & Young, titled Beyond Secondary School. The event focused on providing insights and support to youths with Special Educational Needs (SEN), as well as their families, on how to navigate life after their secondary education.

Jo was joined by other esteemed speakers including SENsational's Faride Shroff, The Nesbitt Centre's Dr. Billy Yeung, Generation Hong Kong's Maple Wong, and Dr. Simon Ng of the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. Topics discussed range from defining success for SEN youths and the importance of keeping an open mind, to how parents can better prepare their children for the transition into employment, finding the right career opportunity for them, and how they can make that employment sustainable. Before opening up to the audience for closing questions, the five speakers also explored how employers can create more inclusive working environments, a crucial ingredient in ensuring that youths with diverse learning needs have the chance to thrive in their workplaces and careers.
