r é n In the Kitchen Charity Night 2026 Raises Over HKD $441,000 on an Evening to Remember

The evening was highlighted by a stellar eight-course menu from eight of Hong Kong's most beloved chefs.

On 2nd of September, r é n hosted its inaugural r é n In the Kitchen Charity Night in partnership with our exclusive media partner Foodie and our venue sponsor The Mira Hong Kong for close to 200 esteemed guests at the hotel’s penthouse Ballroom.

The evening was highlighted by a stellar eight-course menu created by eight of Hong Kong’s most celebrated chefs, including Olivier Elzer of L’Envol, David Lai of Neighborhood, Loïc Portalier of Louise, Sebastian Lorenzi of Té Bo, Rania Hatoum of RH Fine Dining, Mitsuru Konishi of Plaisance by Mauro Colagreco, Kylie Yang of ZS Hospitality, and The Mira Hong Kong’s very own Alexis Watrin.

The stunning menu included starters such as chef Rania’s famed Kaviari Ossetra caviar tarts and Louise’s iconic caramelised onion tart by chef Loïc before moving into a shellfish and seafood ragout by chef Mitsuru and a beef cheek raviolo by chef Sebastian as entrées. Mains came in the form of a reinterpreted bouillabaisse by chef David and a beautiful M6 Wagyu beef tenderloin with root vegetables by chef Olivier, before the evening concluded with a special ginseng tea ice-cream by chef Kylie and a Paquibato chocolate dessert from chef Alexis.

On top the highly anticipated menu, the evening also featured a charity auction with items donated by generous sponsors, ranging from paintings created by r é n’s beneficiary Man Hong with artist Melissa Bui, a coveted dessert cabinet from TATE, and Guangcai porcelain pieces from 嶺南國畫廣彩陶瓷研究會, to culinary experiences from VEA and Amber, a stunning crystal formation from Wesley Ho, and a full hotel stay, dining and spa package from The Mira Hong Kong.

Together, the 11 auctions items raised over HKD $70,000 in additional funds, contributing to the overall total of more than HKD $441,000 raised through ticket sales, pledges and donations, and merchandise sales for both r é n and the r é n Community Foundation, supporting both the social enterprise’s work in providing vocational training and career opportunities for Hong Kong’s disadvantaged youths as well as the charity’s Youth Employment Scholarship (YES) Programme, which subsidises the wages of its beneficiaries.

r é n would like to express its sincere gratitude to all our partners and sponsors that made this magical event possible, including all involved chefs, advocates and volunteers, as well as Foodie, The Mira Hong Kong, Bacha Coffee, Casa del Pane, Jebsen Beverage Company Limited, MC Marketing & Sales (HK) Limited, RSRV Champagne, Saicho, Standard Garment Limited and Swire Coca-Cola.
