On Discovering Joy: An Interview with Chef Olivier Elzer
An interview with the ever-so-busy Chef Olivier Elzer, who delighted Us with his culinary magic at r é n's anniversary celebration along with Chef Uwe Opocensky. Here we talked about his recent commitment to r é n as the newest member of the many Chef Advocates, his hobbies and life beyond cooking.

Q: Thanks for time Olivier. So why did you join rén? What motivated you to become a part of the r é n community?
Chef Olivier: Caring for people and realising that helping them helps you in a better way than helping only yourself. And that’s what motivates me to join r é n as well.
Q: Helping others is certainly something that brings much cheer. What else is something that recently made you smile?
Chef Olivier: My baby boy’s smile.
Q: That’s lovely. Is there a quote or mantra you live by?
Chef Olivier: Never stop to get better.
Q: Thanks for being inspiring. Let’s tell our readers a bit more about yourself. What is your favourite meal?
Chef Olivier: Sushi in Japan.
Q: Mine too. What is your least favourite food?
Chef Olivier: Broccoli.
Q: If you could choose one kitchen utensil or appliance for everyone to have in their kitchen, what would it be?
Chef Olivier: A knife.

Chef Olivier: Jeans.
Q: What is your idea of a perfect rainy day in Hong Kong?
Chef Olivier: Spending time with my beloved family.
Q: That’s great! How do you unwind?
Chef Olivier: Thai Boxing.
Q: What is the last book you read?
Chef Olivier: Positioning: The Battle for Your Mind by Al Ries and Jack Trout.
Q: That’s about how best to communicate with the public, right? I suppose music is a great way to communicate. What is the one song that makes you dance?
Chef Olivier: Baby shark
Q: Those who have had babies in recent years will understand. To wrap this up, who should we interview next? We will then tag them in this interview.
Chef Olivier: Chef Agustin Balbi from ANDŌ.
