Jo Joins Malvern College for Career Talks and Panel Discussions
Sharing with students insights from her social work and entrepreneurial experiences.

Earlier in June, our founder Jo Soo Tang was invited by Malvern College to moderate a panel discussion titled "The Future of Careers," featuring guest speakers Rita Pang, educator and founder of See Change Education, and Bonnie Wong, a member of the Hong Kong Design Centre's Board of Directors.

"We need to be ready to face the reality of constant change," Rita explains. "The world will no longer allow you to stop learning after you leave the classroom of after you graduate. Technology is moving at a breakneck speed. While it is creating incredible new possibilities, new jobs are also replacing the traditional jobs."
Jo agrees. "My work is in the non-commercial sector and I run a social enterprise," she says. "This is ultimately business with a social purpose that helps underprivileged young people find jobs, particularly in the food and beverage and hotel sectors. Many of our young people have special educational seeds or Down syndrome, and it's not easy for us to place them. A lot of empathy, patience and care is required. With the rapidly changing job market and many existing jobs being replaced, securing employment is becoming increasingly difficult."
"What this means is that classroom learning here is just the beginning of your learning," Rita remarks. "It's the starting line. To thrive in this new world, you need lifelong learning. You have to learn how to learn."
