Founder Jo Soo Tang Reflects on September and Looks Ahead to October
As we step into October and welcome the autumn months, r é n founder Jo Soo Tang reflects on the past month’s achievements and sets out our targets for the coming weeks.

September was in many ways a triumph for r é n. First and foremost, we managed to secure two full time placements as well as three part-time ones, and great progress was made on placements for two special needs individuals. Internally, we’ve also managed to grow our team, with a third and fourth member joining this month – Vivian Hon as our new Programme Coordinator and Jeff Yeung as our Editor. In line with these internal changes, we’ve also made further design changes to our website with the help of HATO, and planning for our long-anticipated FOOD & FILM series is now in full charge.
Looking ahead to the month of October, there’s plenty on our to-do list, but also many things to be excited about. Kickstarting the month will be the first event of our FOOD & FILM campaign, which will feature a collaboration between Casa Cucina and Plumcot on October 7. Just two days later on October 9, we’ll have a Burger Day with Shake Shack that’ll contribute towards 50 beneficiaries from the Hong Kong Student Aid Society and the Justice Centre Hong Kong. Later in the month, we’ll also be participating in a series of pop-up events at the Macquarie Bank office. Finally, for fans of our e-shop, we’re currently finalising our holiday stockings and blankets for the coming festive season, and we’re also going to launch our wooden chopping boards soon, so look out for those!
