r é n is collaborating with local candle brand, BeCandle to create thirteen unique candle scents with the help of twelve culinary experts and our founder. These candles bear the seasonal themes of autumn and winter.
The Chef / The Maker
Upon arriving in Hong Kong, Chef Richard Ekkebus was immediately entranced by the smell of spices he encountered as he walked through the food markets in Sheung Wan. During the winter season, it was dried clementine peel, star anise and cinnamon that set the tone, “these are the smells I associate with Hong Kong and the festive season”. The candle marks the 18th anniversary of Amber at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental.
